But you don’t want to jump in right away and pay for an attorney because you are still experiencing trauma. Your first priority could be counseling. Go to victim services. Seek a victim advocate. In Palm Beach County here in Florida, we have free counseling, free therapy for victims of rape and sexual assault. Even if you don’t want to go forward with criminal charges, non-reporting victims, these services are still available to you. If you decided that you do want to go forward with legal action then engage in representation with a knowledgeable attorney.
